Value of the package

This 10-day southern Vietnam tour links four very different landscapes in one private trip: the cool highland city of Da Lat, the sand dunes and beach of Mui Ne, the landmarks of Ho Chi Minh City and the rivers of the Mekong Delta around Can Tho. All transfers and guided days are arranged from your arrival at Lien Khuong Airport to your departure from Tan Son Nhat, and the pace leaves free afternoons along the way.

What makes this package worth it

  • Highlands, coast, city and delta. Every leg is covered by private car and driver: about 40 minutes from Lien Khuong Airport to Da Lat, about 4 hours down to Mui Ne, then on to Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho on the expressways.
  • A full day in Da Lat. Truc Lam Zen Monastery on Phung Hoang Mountain, Datanla Waterfall with the optional alpine coaster, the Art Deco Da Lat Railway Station and a walk around Xuan Huong Lake.
  • Mui Ne at sunrise. An open-top jeep collects you around 4:30 AM for the White Sand Dunes at first light, the Red Sand Dunes, the basket boats of Mui Ne Fishing Village and a barefoot walk up the Fairy Stream, and you are back for breakfast by about 8:30 AM.
  • Time to rest by the sea. Two nights at a beach resort in Mui Ne, with the afternoon of arrival and most of the jeep-tour day free for the beach, the pool or a spa treatment.
  • Saigon’s history in two days. Independence Palace, the War Remnants Museum, the Central Post Office and Ben Thanh Market, then the Cu Chi Tunnels and the Jade Emperor Pagoda.
  • A night in the Mekong Delta. Staying in Can Tho lets you take a boat along the small canals, visit a fruit orchard, walk Ninh Kieu Wharf at dusk and reach Cai Rang Floating Market by boat early the next morning.

Included in the package

  • Airport pick-up at Lien Khuong Airport (Da Lat) and drop-off at Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Ho Chi Minh City) with your guide
  • 9 nights’ accommodation – Da Lat (2 nights), Mui Ne (2 nights), Ho Chi Minh City (4 nights) and Can Tho (1 night)
  • 9 breakfasts and 6 lunches, as listed day by day
  • Private car and driver throughout, open-top jeep in Mui Ne, and boats in the Mekong Delta
  • English-speaking guide on sightseeing days
  • Entrance fees and the activities in the itinerary, including the Mui Ne sunrise jeep tour, Independence Palace, the War Remnants Museum, the Cu Chi Tunnels, the Can Tho canal boat trip and the boat to Cai Rang Floating Market
  • Drinking water on tour days, travel insurance, VAT and service charges

Not included: international flights, Vietnam visa fee, meals not listed, personal expenses, and tips for your guide and driver.

Your open-top jeep collects you from the resort around 4:30 AM, while the sky is still dark and the air is cool, for a half-day tour of Mui Ne’s dunes and coast. You reach the White Sand Dunes in time for sunrise, when the first light turns the ridges gold and pink above the lake at their foot. Climb the soft slopes for the view, or race across the sand by quad bike at your own expense.

Morning
On the way back along the coast road, stop at the Red Sand Dunes, glowing a deep rust colour in the morning sun.

From the hill above Mui Ne Fishing Village you look down on a bay full of round basket boats bringing in the night’s catch, while buyers crowd the shore.

Then walk barefoot up the Fairy Stream, its shallow water running between red and white sandstone cliffs. You are back at your resort by about 8:30 AM for a late breakfast.

Afternoon
The rest of the day is yours. Swim, read by the pool or book a spa treatment. Walk the long beach, where on windy days the sky fills with the bright sails of kitesurfers, and as the sun goes down, settle in for a seafood dinner at one of the restaurants along the seafront.

Nearby, the War Remnants Museum tells the story of the Vietnam War and its impact in powerful, often moving exhibitions.

Then admire the red-brick Notre-Dame Cathedral from the square – it is still under restoration – before stepping into the Central Post Office next door, one of the city’s most beautiful colonial buildings and still a working post office today.

Midday

Midday
Lunch around midday is at a local restaurant on the way back to the city.
