Value of the package

This 8-day north and central Vietnam cultural tour follows the country’s temples, pagodas and royal heritage in one private trip: the capital Hanoi, the former imperial city of Hue and the old trading port of Hoi An. Everything from your arrival in Hanoi to your departure from Da Nang is arranged for you, including the airport transfers for the flight to Hue.

What makes this package worth it

  • Two guided days in Hanoi. A city tour of Ba Dinh Square, Tran Quoc Pagoda, Train Street and the Temple of Literature, then a day of street food, egg coffee and a water puppet show.
  • The heart of imperial Hue. Your guide takes you through the Imperial Citadel of the Nguyen emperors, to Thien Mu Pagoda above the Perfume River and to the tomb of Emperor Khai Dinh.
  • The Hai Van Pass on the way south. The drive from Hue to Hoi An crosses the pass between the mountains and the sea, with a photo stop at the top.
  • My Son and Hoi An in one day. The Cham temple towers in the morning, the UNESCO-listed old town in the afternoon, and a wooden boat on the Hoai River at dusk to release a flower lantern.
  • A slower day in the countryside. Spin in a basket boat through the Cam Thanh water-coconut forest, try the potter’s wheel in Thanh Ha, walk the Tra Que gardens and end at An Bang Beach.
  • Guided where it matters. Your English-speaking guide accompanies you on sightseeing days and airport transfers, with a private car and driver.

Walk past the yellow Presidential Palace, his simple stilt house and the One Pillar Pagoda, rising from its pond like a lotus. The mausoleum opens in the morning and closes on Mondays, Fridays and during its yearly maintenance; on those days you see it from the square.

Next comes Tran Quoc Pagoda, the city’s oldest, its red brick tower rising from a small peninsula on West Lake.

At Train Street, the railway runs a few steps from front doors and tiny cafés.

Midday

Then wander the Old Quarter, each lane once home to its own craft, and watch daily life flow around Hoan Kiem Lake. You are back at your hotel by about 4:30 PM, and the evening is free for dinner at your own choice.

Around midday, the food walk ends with lunch at a local eatery in the Old Quarter.

Afternoon
Slip into a small café for Hanoi’s signature egg coffee, strong robusta under a creamy whipped egg-yolk foam, then return to the hotel to rest.

Evening
In the early evening, your guide takes you to a traditional water puppet show. Lacquered wooden figures dance across the water to a live orchestra, an art born in the flooded rice paddies of the Red River Delta. You are back at your hotel by about 7:30 PM.
