Nha Trang, Central Vietnam

A long bay on the south-central coast, with islands offshore, warm water most of the year and Cham towers above the city.

Best time to visit

January to August is dry and sunny, with the calmest sea from March to June. October and November are the wettest months.

Getting there

Cam Ranh International Airport is about 35 km south of the city, roughly 45 minutes by road.

How long to stay

One to two days, or longer for the islands.

Where to stay

Hotels line the beach road in the centre, with quieter resorts on the bays north and south of the city, closer to the airport.

What to eat

Bun ca, fish cake noodle soup, nem nuong Ninh Hoa, grilled pork rolls made at the table, and seafood at the night markets.

Good to know

  • Since 1 July 2025 Nha Trang is part of the enlarged Khanh Hoa province.
  • January to August is dry and sunny, roughly 25–35°C. June to August is the busiest stretch.
