Mui Ne

A fishing village on the Binh Thuan coast that grew into a beach town, known for its sand dunes and for the wind that made it a kitesurfing centre.

November to April is dry and windy. May to October is greener with short rains.

About 3.5–4 hours by road from Ho Chi Minh City on the expressway, or about 4 hours from Da Lat.

Where to stay
Resorts line the beach road between Phan Thiet and Mui Ne village; the western end is quieter, the eastern end has the kitesurfing schools and beach bars.
What to eat
Seafood, especially squid and scallops grilled with spring onion oil, banh canh cha ca, and dragon fruit, which is grown across Binh Thuan.
Good to know
- Since the 2025 provincial mergers, Mui Ne and Phan Thiet are administered under Lam Dong province.
- November to April is dry and windy, the season for kitesurfing.
- The dunes are visited at sunrise or late afternoon; the middle of the day is hot and glaring.
