This 8-day southern Vietnam tour moves from the city to the river, the coast and the highlands in one private trip: Ho Chi Minh City and the Cu Chi Tunnels, the Mekong Delta around Ben Tre, the sand dunes of Mui Ne and the pine-covered hills of Da Lat. Transfers, guides and hotels are arranged for you from arrival to departure.
- Four landscapes in eight days. City, delta, coast and highlands, with private drives between Ho Chi Minh City and Mui Ne and a domestic flight up to Da Lat.
- History told on site. Crouch inside the Cu Chi Tunnels, then visit the War Remnants Museum, Independence Palace, Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Saigon Central Post Office.
- A day on the Mekong. A boat takes you across the Tien River to Qui Islet and through the Bao Dinh Canal into Ben Tre, with coconut candy, honey tea and live southern folk music.
- Mui Ne at sunrise. The open-top jeep leaves at about 4:30 AM for the White Sand Dunes, the Red Sand Dunes, the fishing village and the Fairy Stream, and you are back at the resort by about 8:30 AM.
- Da Lat’s highlands. Datanla waterfall, Truc Lam Zen Monastery and the Crazy House on arrival day, then a jeep up Langbiang to Radar Hill and a coffee farm run by K’Ho families.
- Guided where it matters. Your English-speaking guide accompanies you on sightseeing days, with a private car and driver for the transfers.

On arrival
Welcome to Vietnam. Your HYNA guide and driver wait for you in the arrival hall of Tan Son Nhat International Airport with a name sign and take you by private car into the city centre, through streets that pulse with motorbikes, neon and the smell of grilled food.
Evening
Check in and rest after your flight. Later, take a first walk along Nguyen Hue Walking Street, a lively boulevard just steps from your hotel, where families gather and the city shows its evening face.
DAY 2: CU CHI TUNNELS & HO CHI MINH CITY TOUR

Morning
Your guide and driver meet you at your hotel around 8:00 AM for the drive of about 1.5 hours north-west to Cu Chi. Beneath the forest floor lies a vast network of tunnels dug and used during the Vietnam War. Learn how guerrilla fighters cooked, slept and fought underground, then crouch down and step inside preserved sections to feel just how narrow and dark they are.
Midday
Back in the city, lunch around 12:30 PM at a local restaurant.
Afternoon
The War Remnants Museum tells the story of the war and its impact through powerful photographs and exhibits.
Nearby, Independence Palace, the former presidential palace, marks the war’s end in 1975, when tanks rolled through its gates.
Finish in the colonial heart of Saigon, where the red-brick Notre-Dame Cathedral faces the Saigon Central Post Office, one of the city’s most beautiful colonial buildings, its vaulted hall still busy with letters and parcels. You are back at your hotel by about 5:00 PM.
DAY 3: MEKONG DELTA DAY TRIP: BEN TRE COCONUT CANALS & FOLK MUSIC

Morning
Your guide meets you around 7:30 AM, and the drive south to My Tho trades high-rises for rice fields and countryside, with a stop at Vinh Trang Pagoda on the way.
At the Tien River, a boat carries you across the wide brown water to Qui (Tortoise) Islet, then slips into the Bao Dinh Canal and on into Ben Tre, the land of coconuts. Under the shade of water-coconut palms, learn about the local garden–pond–cage farming model and taste chewy coconut candy and honey tea.
Midday
Lunch around midday is a southern Vietnamese meal at a local restaurant.
Afternoon
Continue by boat to enjoy a performance of traditional southern folk music by local islanders, the plucked strings and gentle voices carrying the easy rhythm of delta life. Then it is time to head back to the city, and you are at your hotel by about 5:30 PM.
DAY 4: HO CHI MINH CITY TO MUI NE

Morning
After breakfast and check-out, your guide and driver meet you around 8:30 AM for the drive east to the coast. The journey of about 3.5–4 hours on the expressway passes the rubber plantations and dragon-fruit farms of Binh Thuan, their cactus-like plants hung with bright pink fruit, with a rest stop on the way.
Midday
Lunch around 12:30 PM is a seafood meal at a local restaurant in Mui Ne.
Afternoon
Check in to your resort around 2:00 PM and let the rest of the day unwind by the sea or the pool, the sound of waves never far away. As evening comes, watch the sun set over the colourful fishing boats in the bay.

Early morning
Your open-top jeep collects you from the resort around 4:30 AM, while the sky is still dark and the air is cool, for a half-day tour of Mui Ne’s dunes and coast. You reach the White Sand Dunes in time for sunrise, when the first light turns the ridges gold and pink above the lake at their foot. Climb the soft slopes for the view, or race across the sand by quad bike at your own expense.
Morning
On the way back along the coast road, stop at the Red Sand Dunes, glowing a deep rust colour in the morning sun.
From the hill above Mui Ne Fishing Village you look down on a bay full of round basket boats bringing in the night’s catch, while buyers crowd the shore.
Then walk barefoot up the Fairy Stream, its shallow water running between red and white sandstone cliffs. You are back at the resort by about 8:30 AM for breakfast, a swim and check-out.
Midday
Lunch around 11:30 AM at a local restaurant, before the drive of about 3.5–4 hours back to Ho Chi Minh City, where you arrive at your hotel at about 4:30 PM.
DAY 6: FLY TO DA LAT: DATANLA WATERFALL, TRUC LAM ZEN MONASTERY & CRAZY HOUSE

Morning
After breakfast, your guide takes you to Tan Son Nhat Airport for your domestic flight to Da Lat. At Lien Khuong Airport your HYNA guide and driver meet you, and the road climbs into highlands of pine forest, where the air is noticeably cooler.
Afternoon
On the way into town, walk down through the forest to Datanla, where water cascades over the rocks among the pines. Continue to Truc Lam Zen Monastery, the largest Zen monastery in Vietnam, set on a hill above Tuyen Lam Lake, with peaceful gardens and views that reach across the lake and forest.
End in town at Hang Nga Villa, known as the Crazy House, a fairy-tale building of tree-like walls, winding stairways and animal-shaped rooms.
Evening
Check in to your hotel around 5:00 PM. The evening is free to explore the Da Lat night market, with its warm snacks and bustle in the cool highland air.
DAY 7: LANGBIANG MOUNTAIN & COFFEE FARM TOUR

Morning
Your guide meets you around 8:00 AM for the drive of about 30 minutes north to Lac Duong, at the foot of Langbiang Mountain.
A jeep carries you up the winding road to Radar Hill, where the view opens over valleys, pine forests and the Golden Stream below, with Da Lat in the distance.
Midday
Lunch around midday at a local restaurant in Lac Duong.
Afternoon
Visit a coffee farm run by K’Ho families on the slopes of Langbiang. Walk between the rows of arabica trees, see how the beans are picked, processed and roasted, and breathe in the rich smell of the roast before tasting a freshly brewed cup of highland coffee. You are back at your hotel by about 4:00 PM, with a free evening in Da Lat.

No. International and domestic flights are not included in our tour prices. Where a route uses a domestic flight, the itinerary shows it so you can plan your bookings.

3. Can I change the itinerary?

4. What is your cancellation policy?
Our cancellation policy is flexible, and the terms depend on your travel dates and the services booked. Ask us for the full terms before you book.
5. When is the best time to take this tour?
The weather in Vietnam differs a lot between the north, the centre and the south. The best months for this route are shown under "Best time to go" in the Trip facts on this page. Tell us your travel dates and we can suggest the best way to plan the route for that season.
6. Is travel insurance included?
Travel insurance during the tour is included, as listed under "Included in the package". Children can be covered from 6 weeks of age. Special conditions apply to travellers over 80, adventure activities and pre-existing illnesses or injuries. The insurance does not pay out if an incident involves alcohol, drugs or other stimulants, or any breach of Vietnamese law – for example, riding a motorbike yourself without a licence valid in Vietnam or on a vehicle without proper papers. Riding as a passenger with an easy rider on our motorbike tours is covered. We also recommend your own international travel insurance that covers medical care and flight changes.
7. Is airport pick-up included?
Yes. Your guide and driver meet you at the airport on the first day and take you to the airport for your departure on the last day, as shown in the itinerary.
8. What documents do I need to travel to Vietnam?
You need a passport valid for at least six months from your arrival date and a Vietnam visa or visa exemption, depending on your nationality. The Vietnam visa fee is not included in the tour price.
